Program Description & Educational Objectives
In this activity, an expert in the use of MRI discusses the appropriate selection and use of contrast imaging agents.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Apply the latest advances in the use of MRI technology and contrast media in patient evaluations and utilize available guidelines for performing and interpreting MRI
- Differentiate between current and novel MRI contrast agents, recognizing the indications for use of such different agents
- Determine which contrast agents are appropriate for use in renal-impaired patients and other special populations for whom gadolinium-based contrast agents are contraindicated or must be used with caution
- Employ strategies to appropriately manage adverse events associated with gadolinium-based contrast agents
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of radiologists, MRI technologists, and other clinicians involved in the use of contrast imaging agents.
Requirements for Successful Completion
In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
