Course Description

After completing this module, you should:
- Understand the evidence on the long term safety of contraception in relation to bone density
- Be aware of contraindications to combined hormonal contraception, in particular prescribing for women with migraine
- Be able to discuss evidence around side effects of combined hormonal contraception with patients
- Be able to assess and manage problematic bleeding in women taking contraception
- Know when it is safe to stop contraception in women approaching or following menopause
- Understand the latest evidence on the association between venous thromboembolism risk and norethisterone
- Be aware of newer intrauterine contraception products.
