1. Describe the Haller index and its use by surgeons and health care payers;
2. Outline the difference in the Haller index depending on the breathing stage; and
3. Make a recommendation for CT imaging to assess patients with pectus excavatum deformity that corresponds to the needs of surgeons and the requirements of third party payers.
