Course Description

After completing the material in this article, the learner should be able to:
1. Recognize common causes and presentations of artifacts associated with digital breast tomosynthesis and that these artifacts may currently be underrecognized in the clinical setting;
2. Describe the limitations of synthetic 2D mammography in depicting subtle microcalcifications; and
3. Recognize that knowledge of DBT artifacts is necessary to allow improvement of DBT image quality.
