Program Description & Educational Objectives

In this activity, an expert in age-related macular degeneration discusses the importance of regular assessments, including dilated macular examination, in a 67-year-old woman previously diagnosed and treated for AMD and explores the options for diagnosing and managing AMD in a 74-year-old man experiencing straight-line distortion.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Explain the rationale for early detection and active follow-up of AMD
  • Apply recent efficacy and safety evidence surrounding use of anti-VEGF agents for treatment of neovascular AMD to clinical practice
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to minimize visual impairment and blindness in patients with AMD

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of retinal specialists and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with macular degeneration.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit.
