Program Description & Educational Objectives

In this activity, experts in cardiology discuss the use of statin therapy to reduce cardiovascular risk.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Use up-to-date clinical information to identify those individuals who are likely to benefit from a comprehensive CAD risk management approach, including the role of statin therapy and lifestyle modifications
  • Assess benefits versus risks for CAD risk reduction strategies in a variety of patients, including those with CAD and those at risk for CAD, based on current clinical evidence
  • Develop CAD risk reduction goals and strategies for various patient types based on assessment of risk and clinical evidence

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of primary care physicians and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with cardiovascular risk due to atherosclerosis.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
