Learning Objectives


Section 1
• Understand the factors related to increased incidence of melanoma among the adolescent and young adult population.
• Apply knowledge of the ABCD signs of melanoma presentation to diagnosing patients in clinical practice
• Enhance awareness of the management options for primary and early-stage melanoma


Section 2
• Identify distinct genetic alterations in melanoma and apply knowledge to evaluating treatment options for patients
• Assess the benefits and side-effects of targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy for treatment of late-stage melanoma.
• Enhance awareness of the role of palliative care during the treatment of late-stage melanoma.
