Program Description & Educational Objectives

In this activity, an expert in ADHD discusses methods to screen for and diagnose ADHD, as well as comorbid behavioral and psychiatric disorders, in children and adolescents. Individualizing treatment and applying management strategies that encourage adherence to therapy and help patients develop organizational and coping skills are also explored.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the symptoms of pediatric and adolescent ADHD
  • Screen for and diagnose ADHD and comorbid behavioral and psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
  • Select treatment for children and adolescents with ADHD based on emerging data and individual patient profiles
  • Apply patient individualized management strategies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, that encourage adherence to ADHD treatment

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of psychiatrists, pediatric psychiatric nurses, and other clinicians involved in treatment of children and adolescents with ADHD.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME/CNE credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
