Course Description

After completing this CME module, participants will be able to

1. Discuss the pathophysiology and etiology of lateral elbow tendinopathy.
2. Recognize common presenting symptoms in patients with lateral elbow tendinopathy.
3. Identify and describe the most useful physical examination maneuvers and imaging studies for the diagnosis of lateral elbow tendinopathy.
4. Generate an appropriate differential diagnosis.
5. Describe methods of nonsurgical management in the treatment of lateral elbow tendinopathy, including the use of rest, orthotic devices, physical therapy, corticosteroid injection, botulinum toxin injection, and other methods.
6. Describe techniques for surgical management of lateral elbow tendinopathy, including open, percutaneous, and arthroscopic procedures.
7. Compare and contrast outcomes associated with nonsurgical and surgical management of lateral elbow tendinopathy as reported in current literature.
