In this activity, experts in cardiovascular disease and HIV discuss risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients with HIV, cardiovascular risk assessment in HIV, and cardiovascular risk associated with HIV therapy.
Statement of Need
This activity addresses specific performance gaps for clinicians who treat patients with HIV, including helping clinicians understand the mechanisms of increased cardiovascular risk in their patients with HIV; how applying current standards for cardiovascular screening may or may not address this risk in patients with HIV; and improving awareness of HIV treatment strategies that may positively affect cardiovascular risk in patients with HIV.

This CME activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of patient care and medical knowledge.

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of HIV physician specialists, HIV nurse specialists, and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with HIV.
