Activity Description

Miami Lung Cancer Conference™ Medical Crossfire® is a nationally recognized health care communications platform dedicated to improving medical practices and patient care through debate, discussion, and authoritative peer-exchange on important clinical issues. This installment of Medical Crossfire® will include three panel discussions: panel one is focused on the role of antibodies and maintenance therapy in advanced disease, panel two is focused on EGFR and ALK, and the final panel will focus on immunotherapy. This discussion will be structured around specific questions relevant to issues faced by practicing community oncologists.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better prepared to:

  • Evaluate emerging clinical data regarding new agents and evolving strategies for the treatment of lung cancer
  • Assess how emerging data on the molecular classification of NSCLC can be used to individualize treatment plans for patients with NSCLC
  • Summarize recently updated guidelines for selection of treatment for patients with NSCLC
  • Identify clinically relevant histologic and molecular markers and tumor and patient characteristics that should be used to make treatment decisions for patients with NSCLC
  • Evaluate clinical data on maintenance therapy in NSCLC that determines which patients are likely to benefit from a maintenance regimen and which maintenance regimen to use
  • Identify appropriate clinical trials designed to benefit patients with lung cancer

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward medical oncologists involved in the treatment and management of patients with lung cancer. Fellows, radiation and surgical oncologists, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of lung cancer may also participate.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive a CME certificate, participants must view any number of the slide modules, complete the posttest with a passing score of 70% or higher, complete the evaluation, and request credit. Participants may immediately download a CME certificate upon completion of these steps.
