Program Description & Educational Objectives

In this activity, an expert in HIV addresses two key questions about the management of pregnant women with HIV, including the need for additional monitoring or testing during pregnancy and recommendations for prevention of mother-to-child transmission during labor and delivery.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Apply current recommendations for monitoring of pregnant women with HIV to practice to ensure maximal virologic suppression
  • Summarize best practices to prevent mother-to-child transmission during labor and delivery of pregnant women with HIV

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of HIV specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with HIV.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
