Upon completion of this program, you should be able to:

- Discuss the relative benefits of second-generation stents over first-generation stents in the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
- Explain that patients require ≥12 months of dual antiplatelet therapy after an ACS. This is shortened to at ≥6 months in patients with stable ischemic heart disease who receive drug-eluting stents.
