Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of these educational activities, participants will be expected to be able to:

  • Describe the rationale for, and the recommendations of, current guidelines related to VTE prophylaxis.
  • Critically evaluate their adherence to guidelines as it relates to VTE prophylaxis, and apply a greater appreciation of the rigorous use of VTE prophylaxis measures in appropriate case scenarios.

Intended Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians of multiple specialties who are in a position to be responsible for patients at risk for venous thromboembolism in the medical setting.
