Course Description

By completing this educational activity, the participant will exercise, self-assess, and improve his or her understanding of:
1. Differential diagnoses for intramedullary and intradural extramedullary neoplasms in the pediatric population;
2. Basic imaging characteristics of pediatric spinal astrocytomas, ependymomas, hemangioblastomas, gangliogliomas, pediatric spinal nerve sheath tumors, paragangliomas, and myxopapillary ependymomas; and
3. Key differences between the two most common pediatric intramedullary spinal tumors (astrocytomas and ependymomas) and between the two types of nerve sheath tumors (schwannomas and neurofibromas).
