Course Description

After reading this article the reader should be able to:

- Identify the cardiac complications associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the increased risk of adverse outcomes in patients with underlying cardiac comorbidities who contract COVID-19.
- Identify the factors affecting a practice/center’s ability to provide cardiac care to patients with structural heart disease during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Discuss strategies for minimizing avoidable cardiac morbidity and mortality of patients with structural heart disease during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Discuss strategies for minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 among patients and health care workers in the catheterization laboratory.
