Course Description

Learning Objectives
1. Describe the signs and symptoms of a stroke to all patients to better ensure prompt treatment and minimal post-stroke sequelae.
2. Discuss the risks and benefits associated with IV tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) and intra-arterial lytic therapy for acute ischemic stroke.
3. Explain the rationale for choosing between different available antiplatelet agents in patients with TIA and ischemic stroke.
