Activity Description and Educational Objectives

In this activity, an expert in prostate cancer discusses key clinical evidence and guideline recommendations for the management of early-stage and advanced prostate cancer, and provides guidance on application of the latest evidence-based data throughout the disease continuum, including selection and sequencing of therapies based on tumor-, patient-, and treatment-related factors, in an evolving treatment landscape.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Discuss current guideline recommendations for the treatment of both early-stage and later-stage prostate cancer, including castration-resistant prostate cancer, and factors associated with treatment selection, including prior therapy and patient characteristics
  • Evaluate safety and efficacy data from recent clinical trials for nonmetastatic and metastatic prostate cancer in the front-line and later settings with currently approved agents, novel agents, and combination therapies
  • Develop treatment plans with consideration of tumor-, patient- and treatment-related factors throughout the spectrum of prostate cancer
  • Describe strategies to improve interdisciplinary care, including appropriate referrals and patient education, with the goal of providing optimal therapeutic management for patients with prostate cancer
